I have been lurking around here for awhile now, picking up some valuable info. Although, I am not new to fishing, I am fairly new to bass fishing. I have picked up some tips and techniques from here to catch a few bass down her in the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. There is some technique that I cannot grasp the concept. What and how do you "dead stick". I am so glad to finally me a registered member.

"deadstick" means to cast out a lure, mainely soft plastics and just let it set. Do not reel. Do not move it with your rod. Just let it set. Eventually if you dont have a hit lift the bait a little, and then let it set again.

You can also "dead stick" a suspending jerk or crank.  Like a husky jerk. Cast it out, get it to it's optimum depth, and leave it there.  Takes lots of patience but can be great fun.  The hits almost come out of nowhere and jolt you back to reality, lol.

Yeah, it works....I've done this with nightcrawlers.....It does work. I think the bass like plastic baits where "dead stickin'" with nightcrawlers might get you a bass or a catfish or a bream or even a carp.....

Sorry Pards, I just couldn't help myself. ;D

That's how we fished as kids, put a gob of crawlers on cast it out and wait, that's "dead sticking".
