YOU GUYS MAKE THINK THIS IS GOOFY

Featured Replies

Hey Fellas Ive been spending some non fishing time at the lake Just watching minnows I watch them swim ball up and watch small bass clobber them and try to observe the ones that are getting picked off

Then I get my rod with a number 9 Rapala on it and try to imitate the motion and the flash these minnows show I have been learing how to use more than the " Stock action" of these lures and I swaer its improving my fishing

i think its great muddy man.  way to be observant.  Have you signed up for the members challenge??  its another way you can improve your game.  Thanks for the info

Great Idea, Observing your surroundings will always help you as a fisherman

nothing goofy about it.i play with lures in the bath tub sometimes.

I agree, not goofy at all. The more you make your presentaion different than everyone else's and the more lifelike you can make it the more fish you'll put in the boat.

That is the one key KVD has over his competitors, he knows the bait, and how to get that spinner, minnow baits to working.     Nothing wrong with "going back to school".

nature is always going to be the best teacher....if we are willing to learn from her.

My Dad, bless his soul   insisted experience was the best teacher.  I was a very snotty kid and aways replied that yes, but she killed all her students.  I preferred research.  Studying your endeavor is always a good idea, and I appreciate this additional insight--besides, it is fun.

I watched a bass trying to snipe some small (stunted) spawning bluegills the other day.  They knew he was there.  There were just messing around.  He would wait under the lily pad; they would do their thing; he would make a half-hearted attack; they would scatter; they'd start over again.  I wonder if fish laugh at each other as well as at me?

watch out for that HOOK! ;D ;D ;D

Nothing goofy about that.I throw new lures in my front yard trying to get just the right action that will entice the neighbor's cat to bite.Landing and unhooking them can be hell, though.
