Are you a master?

Featured Replies

Im just curious how many people here have caught fish big enough to qualify them for the master angler titles/ patches, or whatever you get. I missed it for largemouth by 5 ounces, but it wouldve qualified for a junior one. I never really cared for that though, i want to run with the big dogs.

what does the weight have to be to be a "master angler" for youth and adult?

Hey senko77,

I believe rocknfish9001 is referring to a state's master award program. Pfunk achieved this in VA this year. From what I know about MD's program, you have to get seveal citations in several species to be awarded the Master Angler award for the year. Since I fish for bass and musky, I can't achieve MD's Master Angler. So far this year, I only have one citation for my PB bass back in April. One other note, MD's citations are awarded by length not weight.
