Late spawners

Featured Replies

I am fishing a river and the water has been extra high and muddy for longer than normal, what Im wondering is how long will these fish hold there eggs, they look like they are ready to pop, and there havent been any fish bedding(that I know of) yet, I know that high muddy water isnt really what they want to lay there eggs in, due to the current and amount of silt in the water, Do they just spawn or will they wait until the water stabilizes a little? normally they would have bedded up by now, and layed there eggs.

Not always will they go ahead and spawn. Sometimes eggs will be re-absorbed because she didn't spawn.
