  1. Sorry when I say texas rigged I guess I mean a weedless rig and I add weight if needed, even with no weight and a senko isnt it still texas rigged or texposed? I was thinking it was the way the hook was rigged not the weight.
  2. Thanks guys the pole that is texas rigged is going to be used for weightless flappin hogs and senkos, pegged worms and tubes with an insert weight, what size jerkbaits are you using?
  3. I will be fishing a river that has both largemouth and smallmouth, there are flats that are 2-5 feet deep and also deeper channels up to 15 feet deep, the weather is supposed to be in the mid 50s and lows in the upper 30s, with the water clarity of 3-5 feet of visibility and is about 41 degrees. I have 3 poles rigged up pole 1 has a jig n pig pole 2 has a texas rig for worms or whatever, and the third I cant choose between a spinnerbait, jerkbait or crankbait, any ideas? Thanks in advance
  4. Try Chapman lake out by Cheney, there used to be some nice smallies and largemouth in that lake. also try Liberty lake. When I lived in Spokane I would have to say my favorite was Long lake lots of water to fish.
  5. I used to live in the Spokane area and would fish the Snake near Lower Granite dam, we usually had good luck with craw colored crankbaits, jerkbaits and grubs in brown or green color.
  6. Thats the way I do it also those things work great
  7. Doucet I also live here in washington (Omak) you should make a trip to the Grande Ronde river the fishing can be outstanding, I dont fly fish for steelhead but I use jigs alot and they are kind of like a fly I guess, eggs work good so any imitations of that would work, I am going next week as a matter of fact but I think the river may be blown up so we may head down to the snake if thats the case, if you want to check the river conditions go to westfly.com, I have had 10 plus fish day on this river and have heard of people doing even better than that
  8. It just might work if you have open water, where I live the ice might affect the action a little
  9. I like to use a 1/4 to 1/2 oz jig in black/blue black/purple black/red and most of the time I will just use a junebug or smoke and blue flake grub as a trailer, I also like the yamamoto craws in black with blue claws.
  10. I also do well with spook type baits and tiny t buzzbaits.
  11. WABass replied to BigAL's topic in Fishing Tackle
Jig with trailer, or big 8-12 inch plastics.
  12. I agree it does look like a wiggle wart. they make a shallow runner in that color
  13. Same as triton21 said, I also fish the back of the boat often and I do just as good and sometimes better than the guy in the front, and there are no worries about boat control. good luck
  14. I have also done well on the skitter pop, but my favorite rapala topwater has to be the original floating rapala.
  15. What would you guys use?????jigs, spinner baits,?????
  16. Spooks, buzzbaits, and frogs in the slop.
  17. If you dont want to tie your own the gami ones are very good I have used them before and I believe they come tied on fluorocarbon line, thats a good thing in gin clear water, but tieing your own is easy also, but the gami ones come in 3 packs for $1.69, thats pretty inexspensive.
  18. Jig n pig, rattle traps, 8 inch black lizard, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits.
  19. I usually put a little crawdaddy smelly jelly on my hands before I start fishing, but I rarely put any directly on my baits.
  20. We all know the LC pointers are probably the best jerkbait around, but what is the second best? Rouges, Xraps, husky jerks, I have some LCs but they get spendy in my neck of the woods and was wanting to buy a few jerkbaits that wont hurt so bad if lost.
  21. Heres how I will be rigged up for my first trip, where i fish the water will be muddy from runoff. one pole will have a black/blue-black/chart jig-n-pig, one will have a chart/white spinnerbait, one will have a 5inch junebug senko, and one will have a LC chart shad pointer on it, after that I like a 8inch black-red flake lizard, and a rattle trap or wiggle wart.
  22. I catch bass in 2-3 feet of water on jigs all the time, I fish them the same in 3 feet of water as I do in 10 feet of water, good luck.
  23. Only time will tell ;Dsounds like alot of people are getting bass fever, I know I am.
  24. I was going through some of my older takle yesterday and I have alot of gycb hula grubs that I forgot about, my ? is if I cut the tail off they look just like a ika, but do they have the same action? if so I am thinking about modifying about half of them. any thoughts? thanks in advance.
