In all honesty, I've often wondered if the best "scent" might just be a few crayfish and the scraps left over from a filet or two. Toss it all together in a blender, put the results in a zip-lock and dip your lure in it every 3-5 casts or so.

Caught more bass on zoom finnesse worm than the same color gulp finnesse worm, but boy those blues, channels, flatheads and bluegills sure do like the gulp.
