Floating Pliers and sunglasses

Featured Replies

Does anyone use floating pliers when they go fishing? even use floating sunglasses?

Sure Xtools make great products. I have a floating neck strap for my sunglasses that floats also.

I use floating leashes on everything,.....except Kistlers.  Once again folks,...the heliums float,.....the magnesiums don't! :):(

floating leash?

Piece of 250lb mono run through a "cored out" chunk of buoy, fed through the ring that the normal strap uses (remove strap), crimp mono.

You can also use many boat keychains that are like a buck at boater's world, west marine, etc

oh, the rod comment refers to the new magnesium I dropped overboard last year.  That didn't have a leash. :(

I HAVE X-TOOL AND ENJOY THEM....HAVEN'T LOST A PAIR YET...LOL.  I ALSO HAVE A FLOATING NECK STRAP FOR MY SUNGLASSES.

Can't believe you didn't go overboard for that thing :o

In short, no.  I see no reason to buy a $20 pair of pliers that float when I can replace the pair I lost for $7.  Same thing for sunglasses and everything else I take on the water.  The only thing that would bother me if it went overboard would be my rod and reel.

I got the scale on Ebay for a ridiculously good price (I think it might be hot now that I look back at it) and it also came with free pliers.

Love the scale

I honestly don't like the pliers.  The business end of them is way to big and it's hard to be precise.  They also feel kind of weak in your hand like you could break it at any moment.  I'll take my el'cheapo needle nose pliers over the Xtools one any day.
