LOCATION, Location, Location...part 2

Featured Replies

Okay Pards,

Many have put their location in their signature lines or below their avatars but many have not. Also, many people do not put their locations in personal profile. To those that have Thank You Very Much. :)

It is not a requirement from this wonderful website but it is annoying when someone asks "What lure do I use to catch bass in the early morning?" and leaves it at that. If no one knows your location we have no idea what will work for you.

Early morning in the Carolinas one might say "White Buzz Bait with a silver blade"

In Minnesota one might say "Use a yellow Mepps No. 2 with a silver blade"

In Texas one might say "Texas rig a june bug or watermelon colored U-tailed worm"

While someone in Pennsylvania might say "Use a Rapala silver black floater and fish it slow"

LOCATION means everything in many ways in regards to our sport.

If people do not know your location or area they may give you advice that works BIG TIME in their area but the fish in your area just act Ho-Hum when you spend money on lures only to find out the lures don't work in your area. You walk or boat away dejected and the only reason that happened was you took advice from Joe in California when the advice fron Jack in Florida would have been more accurate because Jack lives 100 miles from you and Joe is 2500 miles away and his Bass like lure "A" but Jack's like lure "B".

Get my drift?

You don't have to post your exact location but even posting the lake or river or location that you fish would help with others that you request help from on this forum.

Thanks and if I am beatin' the Annoying Drum to the Mods, Please let me know.

Tom

Tom it seems like a great idea. You are not asking for personal info like an address, just a general location would be nice. Since I have done that I have received several pm's from guys that are close and hopefully we can get better aquanted.
