Don't you love it when............

You use a technique that you never would have done, except for reading about here?  And it works

For example, in the past whenever I felt my lure get tangled in some grass I pretty much gave up on the retrieve and concentrated on getting the lure unsnagged.  Making a commotion or such was of no concern.

but after learning about "ripping" a crank out of weeds and pausing to draw a reaction strike, I have employed this technique and expanded to virtually everything that might get hung up.

I LOVE it when a good bass hits.  It happens often enough that I never pull free from a weed snag without giving this a try.

Call me "Avid the weedmaster"

I was using a finesse worm on a knucklehead jig last night.  Eric said, "no way that'll come through the grass".  He was right.  Thing is....the bites were coming after it would hang up and I would give that exaggerated "pop" to free it.

(Just like I planned,lol) ::)

My "DISCOVERED" technique is the Shaky Head jig.  I was fishing a tournament a few weeks ago and nothing was working.  I had some 1/8 jigs I had poured and some hitchikers so decided to try this technique.  Rigged a Watermelon Trick worm, dipped the tail in charstruse Spike-It and on the first cast had a 2 lb keeper.  To make a long story short, we won the tournament with 13 lb 2 oz bag and big fish with 4 lb 11 oz.  I love it when a plan comes together.   ;D

I will let you know when I finally catch something on these !#$*&% JIGS

I read many post here about Paca Craws and Spot Remover Jigs; well we recently received both at work so I bought both. Yea the both actually work quite well, I highly impressed with the action of the Paca Craws. My favorite color is the Okeechobee Bug which is Green Pumpkin on top and Sapphire Blue on the bottom.
