Guessing weight by length?

Featured Replies

Is there a website with info on how much a bass should weigh according to length? I realize that pre and post-spawn bass will be different, but I'd like to get a rough estimate on how much some of the fish I'm catching are weighing. Thanks

Or I supose I could get a scale... ::)

Go to TackleBox above, there's a weight calculator. Type in length and girth and it gives you an approx weight..

Buy a scale - any measurement formula is just a guesstimate and highly inaccurate.

George is right, get a scale.  The weight estimators will help you on the fish you've already thrown in the water, but if weight is important a scale is a must.

As previously stated, the charts can be very inaccurate for a variety of reasons. Nevertheless, I use them for the majority of my fish because I only weigh the big ones and don't need exactness on the others.

These are New York's charts.
