Different rigs

Featured Replies

I once had a page out of a BPS catalog that had different ways to rig your bait i.e. drop shotting, Texas and Carolina among others.  Can anyone tell me which catalog it was or what were all the ways suggested?

you have most of the ones ive used there ... i also use a floating rig .. there is also now a reverse texas rig called the okeechobee rig or what not .. sorry i dont have the catalog page for ya.

what do you mean by a reverse texas rig?  :-?

Here is a link to the article its called the okeechobee rig.  The weight is on the bottom instead of above the hook.  I only say reverse because that is how ive heard others use it.  I will honestly tell you this rig is great for punching through mats.  Anyway enjoy

Thanks for trying to help but that didn't really answer my question because I don't remember how to rig all of them and which is which.

im no expert on rigging and can only give you a good answer for a texas rig because its the only one i fish .basically it is a bullet weight on your line then the hook and worm tied on at the end, once ya get into caroline and that fancy stuff it gets a bit to complicated for me  ;)

Thanks moloch. I found what I was looking for. I had the texas and carolina rigs reversed. I have been fishing the carolina kind of. I just peg a bullet weight about 18" from my bait instead of using swivels and glass beads which poses another question. I guess the glass bead is for noise but why the swivel?

the swivel is so you dont need to peg the weight. sometimes fish will feel the weight and drop it. but with the swivel the line is left free. it also gives you the possibility of using a leader, usually floro.
