Lake Level Question

Featured Replies

Ok... someone put this in terms of ft. inches, whatever or tell me what this means.

Normal pool 259.20

Current conditions 259.35

How high is the lake?

I am just trying to learn everything I can about the Lake I fish on.  And Water level and current are a very important part of the fish catching equation that I usually just throw out.  Thanks

Levels are normally based on Sea Level.    The lake is currently +0.15 above pool.

Matt

259' 4" should be your current conditions if yours is reported the same as mine.  However, the biggest issue is going to be whether the level is rising or falling.  Rising pushes fish shallow and makes for better fishing, falling pushes them deeper and makes fishing harder.

ok... so at 260.20 the lake will be exactly 1 ft above normal pool?

On the lake I fish I need to know the level to know if I can get to certain places or not.

thanks Matt / Captain Obvious 259.35 - 259.20 = .15 got that. :P That was a knock on me being from Arkansas wasn't it. ;D

One foot is = to 1.00 in decimal.    So .25 is the same as 3 inches and so on.   .5 or .50 is the same as 6 inches.

Hope that helps.

Matt

Being that conscious about inches, you must be at lake Darnanelle which has an average of 7 fow.
