Fishing those real weedy and brush filled spots

Featured Replies

In the bodies of water where I fish the most, the water level has gone down some making for some difficult fishing in some very weedy and brush-filled spots. The fish are there! It's just a pain gettin too them.

In all honesty, what types of lures and techniques should be used for these types of siuations? I mean, I know I could use some topwater lures to bring em up and out, but what about getting down under the brush and weeds?

Help an angler in true pursuit of that heaven sent BASS!

I absolutely love low water conditions; it's an excellent opportunity to learn the available structure and cover. For lures I use a Texas Rig with a heavy weight or a heavy Jig-N-Craw and attack the thickest cover. A quality flipping stick, a reel with a strong drag system, & braided line are all requirements. The key to fishing thick grass or brush is a near vertical presentation, remain in contact with bottom, and hold on tight.
