help with polarized sunglasses

Featured Replies

hey, i was thinking about buying a pair of the new oakley flak jacket xlj fishing specific sunglasses b/c i work at a place where we deal them and i can get a major discount. I was wondering what a better all-around lense color would be--shallow blue or amber? thanks for the help

You need two; a darker shade for sunlight and a lighter shade for cloudy days, early and late in the day. Yellow will take care of the later.

For all-around, I'd go with the amber. It should help with depth perception and detail. I wear my brown lenses all the time. They're great for driving too.

Another vote for the amber.

If you can afford both then get them. If you can only afford 1 then get the amber.

Speaking of amber I would choose a lighter amber if possible.  I wear prescription polarized sunglasses and they are sweet but I believe my amber lenses are a bit too dark.  In the evenings just before sunset when the shadows fall over the lake they aren't very useful.  During the rest of the day they are phenomenal.
