When to go this week.....

Recommended Posts

...right now we have about 75-80 degrees for the next 2 days with a strong coldfront moving in on Thurday.   Local pond im gonna hit from shore gets no deeper than 7-8 foot.   Weedy , mossy bottom with fairly clear water (not a lot of rocks).  When do you guys think will be the best time to hit it this week and with what presentation?

thanks!

Any time.

Topwater in early AM and evening.

Topwater during the day, like a buzzbait.

Senkos, fished wacky.

Finesse worms fished Texas rigged.

Carolina rigged brush hogs and lizzards.  Make sure tails are dipped in Spike-It or JJ's chartruse.

Spinnerbaits, in white and chartruse during the day.

Crankbaits and Rat-L-Traps in silver and shad colors or chartruse if the water is badly stained.

In other words, throw what ever you want and experiment and have fun.

Sam has the right idea. If you wait the conditions to be "ideal" to catch fish, you'll never get out on the water. Go out whenever you darn well feel like it and get some practice in all types of conditions. Fish gotta eat, no matter what. ;)

The best time to go fishing is any time you can; the best time they bite are the day before you get there and the day after you leave.
