Least the pros are stand up for juniors

Featured Replies

as per another site

It seems that another sites aren't the only ones upset about BASS's recent decision to move the "Junior Classic" from the Bassmaster Classic to the Federation Nation Championship. At least some of the Classic pros are bummed too, and a few of them have decided to take matters into their own hands.

John Crews contacted another site this morning and wanted to broadcast the message to junior qualifiers that he'll be there at the originally scheduled date, and he'll still take qualifiers fishing. He said Ish Monroe and Mike Iaconelli offered the same promise.

"We need help to let the kids know that whoever qualified for the Championship, and is still going to go to the Classic we'll take them fishing," Crews said. "Whether it's three kids or 30 or more, we'll take as many fishing as we can so they get what they signed up for."

Crews noted that the effort among the pros has just begun, and more details will be forthcoming. He's currently looking for someone to help coordinate the effort between the pros and the kids. Until that time, he said Classic pros who want to volunteer to take the junior qualifiers fishing should contact another site to have their names added to a list. He'll then use that list to move forward with the coordination effort.

"It's something I thought was unfortunate, after those juniors worked so hard to qualify to make it to the Junior World Championship," Crews added. "I enjoyed taking those kids out the last few years at the Classic, and I really think that's something that should continue."

Bravo!!!!!

No suprise from what I have heard that those guys would try to make it right.

The pros participate in more ways than just what we see on camera.  Ask Tin2win about the casting competition Ike got started in the hotel lobby late one night, lol.  He just hung out with the kids all night, raising hell.

It's the whole experience they were robbed of.

Kudos to those that represent!

They are looking for some one to coordinate things. LBH you be the man If there is anybody that can do it, that would be you.

That's pure class.

My hat's off to these pros.  I can't wait to thank them in person for their kindness.

I'm sure these pro's will be getting a talking to from certain big wigs, though. Wouldn't be surprised if they are fishing FLW with in the next few years, lol.

Couldn't Ike fishing with all those laid back guys though. Him and Dudley would be the most hated pro's in bass fishing.

man, what these pros are doing is just awesome!
