Three women catch a big bass

Featured Replies

I believe they are in South Africa.  I think what you are hearing is Afrikaans .

Nope, they are not in South Africa, there is a comment asking where it was, and the person that posted the video replied it was in Zimbabwe, and yes, they speak Afrikaans.I am Afrikaans too.

Don't you mean "Rhodesia"? ;)

I was posting from memory as I didn't re-watch it this time.  I too had seen it some time ago.

The women did everything wrong; managed to cast a soft plastic creature, detect and hook the bass, then played it incorrectly and put the big bass in the boat. She kept the pressure of the bass, wore it down and landed the fish without loosing it. Yes, she reeled agianst the drag and kept the bass out of the water longer than she could hold her breath and as a result the bass was stressed. However the tail was working, the dorsal fin was extended in a defensive posture and recovered quickly when released without rolling over. I would say the bass looked better than 90% of the C&R photos posted in most magazines and sites. That was a typical how big bass get handled by excited fisherman. The big difference is they didn't put the bass in a live well, so it more than likely will survive the handling.

I would estimate the bass at 10+lbs.

Yes, but remember she was old.Old people are not as agile like young peopleyou know.

That is about the funniest clip that I've seen in a long time. A little annoying yes, but it was funny to hear arguing going on amongst 3 ladies (snickering like I always do when I hear it during family gatherings). That one click to tightened the drag seem to get the job done. I was expecting a "dink" at the end but was surprised to see a toad. That was a big fish for sure and I felt just as excited from watching the video of their catch.

Another big fish cpr'd.

Cheers!
