Ice on...Ice out...Ice on...Ice out!!!???

Featured Replies

Hey all,

As discussed in other threads the weather in the Northeast where I live has been crazy (-11 yesterday....55 degrees later in this week.) here's the question:

I have watched a certain pond in my area freeze over and melt SEVERAL times in the last few weeks. What if anything does this do to bass?? I know they have internal clocks that tell them when to spawn etc. but this weather must screw them up somehow! I know it's making me wacko!!!!

It keeps us away, so their lips must stay intact >:(

It doesn't so much matter whether there is ice on top or not to them, it's about the metabolism and what it does in a 25-35 degree environment.  They are all but sleeping right now, lol.
