Tidal Potomac Map

Featured Replies

I was wondering if any of you knew where to buy a tidal potomac map?If you know of any other potomac map that will satisfy the needs of fishing the potomac will work also. Thank you!

I'd love to know the answer to this myself.  The only ones I know of are the GMCO maps.

I use the GMCO's Pro Series Map of the Tidal Potomac.  I get it from Bass Pro.  Pretty accurate as far as I can tell.  I've used it from near Bolling AFB to Smallwood.  Haven't gone past Smallwood.

The GEMCO seires is a good map.

You can get them at your Bass Pro Shop or large tackle store.

You can also go to the GMCO web site and order them.

The GMCO guy is usually at the Richmond Fishing Expo selling his maps and introducing any new ones.

If you make it to Richmond next weekend for the show maybe he can answer your query on a tidal map.

And what do you mean by a "tidal map"?  Is this a new type of map for tidal rivers?

Just curious as I have never seen a map labled '"tidal" before.

I use the tides web page to get Virginia river tides and use the maps for the structure, coves, creeks and depth of the rivers.

Consider driving to Richmond next weekend and seeing what maps are for sale at the show.

GMCO is a pain in the butt. I called for a week at all different times trying to order that map and no results or answers. I heard that answering machine 100 times. I dont know what I mean by tidal its just the only one I have seen so I refer to that. I am guessing you can't order maps off of bps's web site? If anyone knows how to get ahold of GMCO to get maps please let me know. Next weekend I am going to the Maryland Boat show with my PSU team. Maybe I will get lucky and find maps there.. who knows.

I don't know if the Potomac is influenced by it at all but snow-melt can really effect rivers. Every year they can be different. Up here, I know the CT river's channel can effected, laydowns are different, along with grass growth, and wing-dams.

Potomacbass.com is good. A friend of mine ordered his maps that we used to practice for BWS Northeast Regional in 06. The potomac is a great place to fish just be careful of the shallow flats. They sometimes extend out a couple hundred yards from the bank. Have fun!
