The Greatest Sport

Featured Replies

It is so nice being involved in a sport that does not have steroid problems and video tape controversies.  It is also refreshing that when one of our stars makes a mistake they own up to it and accept responsibility for their actions.  I had the chance last year to attend both of the Elite Series events held here in California and to watch these guys interact with the fans, especially the kids was an awesome experience.

Very true, fisherman are the nicest of people in my opinion. When on the water, most will respect the fish and the environment. It's the people not doing that, that gets me angry. But thats a whole other conversation. As it says under my avatar, "Fishing is life".

Fishing for me is an addiction! I get so excited the night before an outing that I can hardly sleep at all!! Casting a line and not knowing what you may hook into is a real RUSH, IMO!!! I do a LOT of other sports but fishing is the only one I have been doing for over 50 years and enjoy now as much as the first time I wet a line. Just my thoughts. And yes, I totally agree that you do meet a great class of people when out fishing. Sure I have meet some jerks as well over the years, but that is a rare occurance!!

I know the feeling.  But yeah it is awesome to have a sport were there is limited controversy and scandals.  Fishing is a pure sport that anyone young or old can enjoy.

Not only what you all said is correct, but you usually don't get bruised or break any bones or have someone yelling at you during the game or facing your teammates and fans when you mess up or have to lift weights or run all the time.

Or worry about being hit by the ball or getting chopped blocked or spraining your ankle getting a rebound or being hit by a puck.

And you do have the comradeship of other fishermen and you can expand the truth a little and no one knows the difference.

All you have to worry about is falling out of the boat. :)

I completely agree with you guys. This is also really the only sport where you can get in touch with nature without hurting it, but still have plenty of competitiveness.
