night fishing

Featured Replies

Fished some lights last night using a shad-rap and caught alot of hybrids. I was wondering by there being so many hybrids were the bass ran off? or was I just using wrong bait?....I usually catch bass at night with shad-rap...is there another bait to try that the hybrids wouldnt go after but the bass will at night?

I would be fishing more jigs, big worms, senko's,tubes, that's what I would be doing!

Actually I would go with baits that make a LOT of vibration. Buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, rat-l-traps, things like this. The fish can't see the bait in the dark but it can strike at the vibration it puts off. The slower you work these baits with maximum vibration, the better luck you'll have.

I had a lot of sucess with Blak 5/8 ounce Jitterbugs last season, Zel was hittin em hard with a large bladed black colorodo Spinner bait at night.

Also try stuff that moves alot of water.  Big worms, brush hogs, etc.  It doesn't have to rattle, although it definately helps. I've caught fish while dropshotting a 5-6" bait at night.

yeah  use something thats gonna thump . Like the moontalker spinnerbait by BOOYAH and put a Black neon RAGE tail shad on there and that thing is gonna pound.  The bass are more active at night i think. the more water you move the BETTER!!  They use their LATERAL LINE  on their back to sense movement and  thats how they hunt at night.I love to bass fish at night. I fished more at night  last year than i did during the day and caught twice as many bass too.
