Ever do this?  PART II--Nightime set up-video(s)-funny

Featured Replies

so I took the time to make a video about how to set up the boat when you are fishing at night, how keeping it neat and clean helps avoid accidents....... ::)

Nighttime set-up video

Yup, you guessed it, tripped on something, don't even know what :) and sent the spidershaft/revo stx combo overboard, lol.  Made it to the bottom in twelve feet (alot deeper than you think! ), just as I reached it,...tip broken, reel saved :)

Hahaha! Wasn't expecting that.

I was going to ask how you ended the day soaking wet!!! hahahahha ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ended the day???  Shoot, the fish are wet,....I just figured it was a fair fight now, lol.  I kept fishing.

HAHA how well did you do??

Oh man. That was me calling at the end...

....heard the splash and started to head in that direction. It was just dark enough and far enough away to not see what happened....Can't have anybody drowning.... :o

Nice save though.  ;)

Too funny, I hadn't realized that was the crawdacious behind me.

(appreciate the heads up & the call bud :) )

3am, next Saturday, Dirk's dads house.  3 rod limit, Roll film :)

Note to self...beach towel and a change of clothes. Just in case.

Matty, maybe we should bury a survival kit over on Gilligans island, fill it with camera batteries, shear pin for t/m, extra clothes, extra raingear, etc.......lol

If you can meet up with us, maybe we can all hit breakfast after :)

LBH, maybe you should invest in an underwater camera.  Next time your down there, you can do a vid on proper rod/reel recovery! ;D

Good stuff LBH, Most of my fishing is at night and with 6 rods on deck most of the time it is important to stay organized with everything. Many of the lakes I fish here in Tx are full of standing timber and brush that a bait hanging over the side will snag on to something and jerk the rod out of the boat. I keep the baits hooked at reel or base of rod to avoid such incidents. All Tackle and baits are under accessible deck lid.

Keep up the good work

Got one coming ;)  (and you have a phone call coming,...another "higher power" moment)

Cool cool. If I go Saturday it will be solo, considering hitting the surf since the new Loomis will be in on Tuesday. The urge to catch Stripers is strong again  8-)

If I get you on the Bay for Sunday, then you're in? :)  Fishous is at the dock and Rusty Hooks is coming out of the shop any day now.

You can still bring the Loomis,...after yesterday, I would ;) ;) ( that's "wink wink" for the smiley impaired, lol)

Big-O, Thanks for the compliments but......That was SUPPOSED to be a safety video but it ended up being a safety video gone very wrong, lol.  Lighting was terrible too, If I hadn't gone overboard,  it would have never aired, lol.  I will do one now though, any other suggestions?  I hadn't thought about trebles overboard in "other' lakes.  we are primarily fishin open water flats.  Good heads up, thanks.

Been there done that got the t-shirt  ;)

Try 12' of water with 8-10' of Hydrilla!

  • Author

no way,lol...this was 14' with 2' of drilla, the rod was sitting on top of the weed bed.

I would have just said bye-bye before diving through 10' of hydrilla, I'm no wimp, it's a safety issue, getting tangled and drowning was not on the agenda for the day,lol

I mean,..it WAS supposed to be a safety video  ;D

Nice video...It was hilarious to see you standing in front of the camera soaking wet after emphasizing for a minute and a half about how to avoid such an occurance.  Made me laugh a bit.

Heck of an awesome fish too.
