cutting trebles

Featured Replies

Does cutting the front trebles off the front and rear hooks affect the hook up ratios of say like a DT 3?

I did a search, it showed one post, but it was almost vague.

Great question. I'd like to know too.

I did swap trebles for large singles on lipless cranks a while back (Cordell Spots). I caught fish but had one day where I got some bangs and missed 'em. Been leery since.

One thing worth trying -not sure if it would work. You might try to ascertain the hook orientation on treble hooked fish, and see if you can't tell whether the leading prong caught the most fish. I might check this out just for the heck of it.
