Any ideas on what to use?

Featured Replies

I have a pond behind my house a ways with other people fishing there. there are plenty of Bass there and i have caught some. It is a retention pond for a landfill that is ways away. there is a gradual slope that then just drops off. I'm not sure of the depth. I use a Baby Brush Hog Texas rigged. i also use a Green and black one. There is a lot of vegetation. The Bass are already finding there beds but I'm sure there are no eggs yet. What should i use and what time of year?

Try dragging a jig and craw trailer or a carolina rig with a floating worm up the slope. I would also try some Rat-L-Traps around cover.

The Brushhog is my favorite go to bait. Something I do with it also is Carolina rig. Gives the brush hog a different action. Try a Senko and rig it wacky style. Fish it weightless if you can. Another bait I like to use in ponds is a Fluke. Fish it just a foot or two below the surface.
