Featured Replies

Fishing an X rap this weekend. caught a lil o dink, got it to the boat. when i pulled it out of the water it threw the bait from it mouth ,flipped and hooked itself in the gut and tail. now i dont know tourney rules, would i have been able to weigh this fish? since by the time it was in the boat it wasnt mouth hooked. Better yet, what if it was the world record? could i count that catch in this situation? just wondering.

You disqualified the fish and the question when you said dink.

;D ;D ;D

I was wondering the same thing.  I had a fish hit a spook this weekend, hooked in the mouth with the front treble and the rear treble stuck into it's throat.  It tossed the front treble on a jump, so landed with only the rear.  Is that considered "foul hooked" or not?  I would say no, as it wasn't snagged but wasn't sure what constitutes a record.

I'm not sure about world record rules but on the local level there is no rule against weighing a fish that has been hooked outside the mouth.

as long as you werent site fishing it would not matter...if it were a 23lb bass you wouldnt have to worry bout that happening...if it comes off its gone
