boaters world

Featured Replies

Hello all. Just a heads up...Boaters World is going out of business. I am not sure how many states have one but everything is 10-30%off. Within two weeks everything should be 30-40%off. They do not have a huge selection of tackle but discounts none the less. I stopped by tonight and picked up (RoadWarrior brace yourself...) GYCB Kreatures for 2.99 a pack plus 10 % off!!! Needless to say my store is out of Kreatures...haha

edit...swim senkos also 2.99 a pack!!!

Boaters World is a great place to buy boat shoes.

cant go wrong w/ costa del mar glasses 30%off...

Is this company associated with boatersworld.com?

With the worst customer service on earth it's about time they were gone. Feel bad for those who lost jobs and tried to do a good job. But, after the way I was treated by the company I am glad to see them gone.

I don't think the whole chain is folding.  I think it is a few stores that now have a new competitor nearby.  The one in Woodbridge, VA is closing because they just opened a Dicks Sporting Goods a few yards away.

yea, i dont know. the springfield location is the one i went too. the employee mentioned that all of them were closing.

The company that owns them has filed for bankruptcy and Boater's World pulled some stuff last year that would lead me to think they were having major problems and didn't care much about their customers or companies they do business with. I bet it's all the stores. Edit: Just read it in a newspaper it is all the stores.

The two closet to me are going out of business. I am going to check them out tomorrow if I get the chance.  I was usually ignored when I walked in.

Ha!  We were in there last week, the 20th.  That's a shame, I like the guys that work there.  Didn't see any going out of business signs or sales, so maybe we just missed it.  Come to think of it, we were often the only people in the store, so, it is not that surprising they are going under. Like you said, the tackle selection isn't great, but they do have a reasonable quantity of the usual, i.e. cranks, spinners, plastics, etc..  One could also pick up some boating stuff cheap.

went there earlier and what a let down.

everything was only 10-30% off. mainly saltwater tackle. i ended up grabbing a 10 pack of 1/4oz jig heads and some DOA 3" paddletail baits to try my skill at teh jigs and called it a day.

meh.

sorry to hear that. it will not be 30-40% off until the end of next week.

Ritz Camera, the owner of Boaters World, filed for chapter 11 bankrupcy protection in February, and the closing of all Boaters World is part of their restructuring plan.

wow. never knew they owned BW. Ritz was so over priced.
