Aaron Martens spraying water

What's the deal with the Faircloth turning his camera away thing people are talking about? What was he supposedly doing at the time?

you are supposed to be able to watch the angler fish. He decided to point the camera at the motor so you couldn't see anything. I hope he gets reprimanded or something. He could have let someone else use the camera.

They definitely need the spray on Smith Mtn right now. I've had a bottle in my boat for 2 weeks. The pollen is thick here this year.

Yeah, here in NC we have had the highest pollen count in a decade.

Combine the extremely thick pollen and our dirty water, you can't see crap.

I was a marshal at the elite on Smith Mountain lake last week and 2 of the pros I rode with used a biodegradable soap to spray on the pollen and clear the water, it only took a few squirts and parted the pollen back immediately allowing them to get a better look for sight fishing. As to Faircloth pointing his camera at the motor, I am not saying that he didn't but in his defense I rode with Gerald Swindle on day 4 and a camera was on the boat and at the first stop after the take off his camera was pointing straight up at the sky. The camera was mounted with a ram mount so I had to straighten it and tighten the ram mount and point it back towards the front of the boat. We were instructed to cover or block the camera if the pro had to relieve himself.

at one point you could see him turning the camera. you could see his face while he was tightening it down.

While we're on this subject, let's clue the newbies (such as myself) as to why a cam needs to watch the angler? I'm assuming this is a tournament? If so, what are they looking for?

BassCast is a camera that ESPN puts on the back of 2 Elite anglers' boats so folks can follow them online and watch them fish. It's a pretty cool deal, really, that is if the video works. The Martens video wasn't working for me. I'd be able to watch 5-10 minutes or so of him fishing and then it would switch to Hackney from the day before. IMO ESPN does a crappy job of keeping up with the tournaments. With the resources they have they should be able to get a simple live stream working pretty easily.

I had never heard of anyone spraying anything on the pollen to clear it up. Pretty good idea for anyone who fishes for bed fish, if it's legal on your lake. My home lake is a zero discharge lake, and enforces a 25,000 dollar fine if your caught putting any form of foreign substance into the lake.

Any kind?
