Muddy, falling water?

Featured Replies

What do you guys have success on during muddy, falling water in a reservoir with standing timber, mostly rock and deep water? I know it is tough, I was just wondering if anyone has had success in these conditions. Thanks.

I dont really fish these conditions much because the lake were I live a mostly clear and deep but I have seen fish caught on crankbaits, spinner baits, and jigs.

Fish tight to cover. Anytime the water is dirty the fish will tighten up. They seem to like to keep a bearing on something around them. If you pitch scrape the bark going down. It's a proven technique in this area.

If you are fishing grass look for the thickest areas and pitch right up into the middle of it. Especially if it has logs or standing timber in it. Target anything out of the ordinary.

Good luck

Also, if the water is falling after a heavy rise fish tight to cover that is submerged at the original waterline before the rise.
