Berkley Beast

Featured Replies

Anybody using these? I spotted these in a bait shop the other day and I thought they had a very interesting shape. I thought the five inch version with it's wide, thin body would probably glide considerably on the drop. Anyhow I picked up a couple of packs and plan to try them weightless and see if I get the unique action that I expect.

i've had decent success with them weightless. also you can burn them across the top as a subtle topwater. the legs dont hold up that well though.

I like these baits around docks with a small (1/8 oz) weight and a light wire hook. It drops slow and works well on suspended fish.

I read an article somewhere that Ike rigged his Beast's up sideways. As in, when it hits the bottom, it's standing up sideways and looks like a small bluegill feeding along the bottom.

I havent tried rigging it like that yet but I will one day.

I fish the 3" beast the general color and the 5" beast baby bass color the bass loves the I have more success with the 3" more and a few hits on the 5"  the are  really good for bass fishing . :)

Try rigging them backwards, like the Fat Ikas and then insert a small nail weight into the head of it. They are really good for pitching into docks, they will glide a good ways under them.

I thought something like that would work, they are built to glide.
