2011 is going to be my first year in semi-full retirement.  No weekly payroll clients, no monthly financial statements, no income tax returns piled high all winter, just a few days a month of consulting work.

So far the only part of the plan I have figured out is going to be staying away from the telephone as much as possible!

Well, what I would like to do and what will actually happen are often miles apart.  But, for starters, I'd like to do a whole slew of ice fishing and, perhaps, actually catch a few walleye through the ice.  But I'll settle for bluegill.  This spring, I'd like to go to Rend Lake for some crappie fishing.  A buddy and I plan to camp/fish at our favorite lake and (my thoughts), try a neighboring lake for crappie.  The Kankakee river (a bit of a drive for me) holds some nice smallmouth and walleye but I seldom seem to hit it right.  Maybe this coming year will be better.  Other than that...your guess is as good as mine.

This year is up in the air because of my job.  If staff reductions take effect, my fishing plans will or may go out the window.  My goals are to fish at least thee local team tounaments early, get to Clear Lake CA in April, try to fish a local circuit or as many events as possible with my buddy and learn some new small mouth water.  The gravy will be to match my last trip of this year which was a good one.

I'll be doing the same old same old.  Fishing when the weather allows and the water is not hard.

This past year was the worst I have had in many a year.  The fish were hard to find after the spawn and the smallies just disappeared.  Even the best white bass lake had a die off and fall fishing for them was nonexistent.

I'm looking forward to a better year in 2011.

Will be content to get to 2012 with no major problems and a lot of bass.

Fishing tournaments will be the same as last year. Im building towards bigger plans in 2012. So this year will be all about trying to establish my new career to allow me to follow my dreams.  Hopefully the fishing in Nor Cal returns to the better days of the past.

Planning to start tournament fishing as a non-boater through Inland Empire Bass Club out of Spokane, WA.

Just need to get down there and introduce myself as soon as classes finish up this quarter.

Basically, I'd like to spend more time fishing with pals and less time fishing by myself.  Most of my pals have radically different schedules and making time to fish together is a pain.

Myself and 8 or 9 different pals have talked about taking a week and all going fishing.  We've set a date and a place, far in advance (2nd week of June) and now we'll see how many can show up.
