has anyone done the grand slam of bass fishing they had articles about it in bass master magazine last year or so. i wanna try and do it its 5 species of bass or something like that i cant remember the details or what 5 it is. i ran the idea past my wife for when i get back from deployment she didn't like the idea but i got 2 years to pry.

Its called the BASS Slam..It consist of catching all the black bass species: northern and florida strain largemouth, smallmouth, redeye, Suwannee, Guadalupe, Spotted and Shoal.

I have not tried it yet but supposedly you can catch all of them in as few as 3 states  , florida,georgia, and texas.

We have a "Grand Slam" trophy in our bass club.  It's 5 species: Largemouth, Smallmouth, Walleye, Perch, and Crappie - all must be "trophy sized" (i.e. meet minimum weight limits, which are pretty hefty).  All must be caught in public waters within the state boundaries.  There is no time limit to catch them all.

To date, only one man has achieved it in the club's 73 year history.  It took him many years to accomplish. :o
