Spike-it paints.

Featured Replies

Has anyone experimented with the new "spike-it" paints or markers?  For years I have been using a permanent marker to put black dots "eyes" on crank baits or put a second dot on them.  I recently bought some orange spike it paint for soft plastics.....I thought orange would maybe look like a crawfish pinchers or something.

Anyone have luck or do you think I should save my money buying other colors??

Haven't tried them.  I stopped using Spike-It after I tried JJ's Magic.  It blew Spike-It away!  So I've never had any reason to go back ever since.

I actually don't think that brand I bought was the "spike-it" brand.  it was definetly a different name but can't think of it.  Any suggestions on the best kind to buy?

If your asking for bait markers, then I'm not sure what direction to point you, but if you are looking for soft plastic dyes then JJ's Magic is the only way to go.

I've got some normal spike-it and JJ's magic, and if you like the clear dyes that seep in and give you a highlighter effect...go with JJ's. Lately though, I've been using spike-it's worm paint when I need a chartreuse tip. There really isn't anything like it. I can see the tip of a senko with the worm paint on it several feet down....long after my senko has disappeared.

I have got some chartruese Spike-It that I use to dye the the pinchers on a craw and the tails on a lizard. I am eventually going to switch over to JJ's Magic but just haven't got around to ordering it yet.

I got some from the christmas exchange. Looking forward to using it once bass season opens around here.

Has anyone used the orange spike-it on the pinchers of craws?  Or on brush hogs or tubes or anything?

Have they increased you fish catch ratio?

Use your senses, smell spike it and then smell JJ's.  No brainer

I've looked all over my local wal-mart and other "tackle" stores....can't find the JJ's anywhere......Closest BPS is like 100 miles away.  Can it be purchased online?
