Post your favorite cold water techniques

Featured Replies

hey guys, this is probably my weakest subject in bass fishing, not that i cant catch them when i find them, but i just cant very often find them!

where do you find bass in very cold water (47-53 degrees) ? and what techniques do you use? i just got done fishing my first bass tourney for the college team.  In pre fish, the water was about 62 degrees back in the bays and we were slayin em on lipless cranks, spinnerbaits, jigs, and frogs.  Them a cold front came in and droped the water from 62 to 53 in one night! we only cought 1 keeper on tourney day. bummer

mine is letting weightless flukes slowly fall over shoreline cover, fallen trees and culverts and such.

lipless cranks when the water is above 53 or 54 degrees

    Jigs on the rocks.

Jerkbaits aren't a bad choice ethier.

If the water is dirty I wouldn't mind trying flipping and pitching in the shallows.

That's about all I try in cold water.  If the water is that cold I usually don't go out, I just spend all day on this forum!!!!!!!!!
