Jig'n for bass during the ice season?

Featured Replies

It's one of my favorite times of the year for smallies.

Jigging smallies through the ice can be hot at first ice.

Depending how hard you want to work at it?

I've had days of 30-40.....even more back in the day!

On the Cape in Massachusetts, freeze up is a blessing if we get it.

Choice of lures are these IMG_0573.jpg

Gold-silver kastmasters are good to. Anybody like to hook up this year drop me a PM

I agree jig'n up bass through the ice is a great time.  I use those rapalas, but  I really like a small silver buddy and a sweedish  pimple also.

Ice on the cape and in southeastern Mass seems like a thing of the past now.  I think 2004 was the last year of good ice.  Had only 2 days on the ice last year and it was very, very thin.   :-X

Got onto Peters Pond last year Matt, 3 times.

Non stop action, all day long.

Like you said, only 3" of ice shocked.gif

I have never Ice Fished Peter's Pond.  There are some good smallies in there and some huge trout and Perch also.
