No, not fungus - that's sand from me landing the fish from shore by sliding him up onto a beach shoreline. I release all my fish within 2 minutes of catching them so no harm done.

Thanks for sharing (both the pictures and in releasing the fish).  Maybe someone else will get a chance at 'em too.  Those are great fish!  You must've had a ball with them!  Attaboy!!!!!!
