Where to Fish Lipless Crankbaits?

Featured Replies

    What do you think?

I would like to start fishing these some, but I have no idea where the best place is to fish them.

Fish them around grass when you feel the grass rip them out and the fish will hammer it.

I like them in early spring when grass and lily pads are just growing up.

Over grass beds is a great place, but they are a good option anywhere you need to cover a lot of water at any depth.

Because he catches all the d**n fish.  And the trolling motor.

Dont let 'ol Burley fool you. He lulls the fish into a hypnotic state with his carolina rig prowess and they just cant resist his powers. He was fishing on the very back of the boat behind me (with lipless bait) and Jimzee (with spinnerbait) and was taking us to school with the c-rig. Jimzee and myself did our best but we were no match for Burley and the c-rig domination.

About the lipless baits, I throw them in open areas like across points, across flats, parallel on breaklines, parallel against the bank in early spring, just anywhere I can make a really long cast. I would say grass as well but I rarely ever get to fish any grass.
