jerkbaits for lake st clair

Featured Replies

I have used xrap rip baits on St. Claire in the past with some success.  Pink was the color I had the best luck with.  I have found that wiggle warts catch more fish than any jerkbaits I have tried.  I am sure there are others who like jerkbaits but I just haven't found one that produces consistently there.

anybody giving their jerkbaits a workout on lake st clair this season

LC Pointer in 78 / 100... American shad or some other local forage & hold on!

:D

still waiting for the Michigan C&R season to open April 30th...

I like the xrap (gold/blk back, bone) and the pointer (gold or american shiner). I have painted an orange belly onto a gold xrap with good results for smallies. depends on clarity/sun as to how bright my colours get.

contact me after the season starts and I'll let you know what's up.

I like both the Xrap and pointer.  Last year was a tough year for the jerkbait bite.  I never got many on them last year.  I have also had some success with the Staysee.  My favorite colors are ghost, pearl ayu and firetiger. I have not had very much success with pink.  I can tell you one thing if you are fishing LSC in the spring bring lipless cranks, tubes, jerbaits and spinnerbaits.

If you are going to LSC in the spring do NOT forget some Super FLukes..  Pearl or bubble gum.

And Jenga:  X2 on the lipless cranks
