Instead of buying a weighted hook, you could use a hook weight.

Interesting...  Have you used these?

I assume you just pinch them similar to a split shot, therefore making them adjustable.  Do they stay in place once you find the sweet spot?

I do use them, usually when I am using a swimbait with a EGW hook, so that the bait doesn't roll over. I like being able to add these to just about any hook and not having to buy special weighted hooks in different sizes. I have the 1/16 oz weights (about 1/4" long) which allows me to go light on smaller hooks or heaver by adding more than one on bigger hooks. I've read of people using a split shot but haven't tried that. I pinch them on with pliers and haven't had any problems with them sliding or falling off. Here is one on a 2/0 EWG hook with a Berkley Havoc Grass Pig Jr. (3.5").

Here’s the one to use ... it’s all Gary Yamamoto uses for his Senkos, and me too.  And that’s the last time I’ll ever be mentioned in the same sentence with a fishing legend..

So I've come across these, but never actually seen them in person.  The "light" scares me.  Thoughts on these bending out?

They are surprisingly strong. But if you’re around dense cover you could use the regular Twistlock hook...
