I just got my taxs back after getting the run around by the IRS and my student loan company and am in the market for some new fishing gear. Im going with all Abu rods and reels basicly looking at a few lower combos then one big expensive one. i allready have a Revo sx paired with a veritas 7'6"MHF so thats my frog/jig rod. Now im looking for a rod just for plastics(t-rig) and one for spinners. I was thinking just getting 2 vendettas and orra sx for each and calling it a day or maybe a orra combo from abu and then a veritas and revo s. Now what lengths and power would you recomend for each application.

Look for a used STX... The best all around reel in the Revo line, IMO. 7.1 for plastics and 6.4 for spinners.

7' HF for T-rigs

7' MF for spinners

I wouldn't limit your options to only Abu. There is a plethora of budget fishing gear out now a' days and it would be a smart option IMO to look around.

But hey, whatever you like.

was just wondering what's the fascination with going with one company exclusively for gear, never really understood this phenomenon. As for the orra sx, stay away, had my anti reverse bearings go out within a month.

iv tried alot of other companys iv got some pfluegers,quantium,diawas, and pinnical reels and just pucked up a revo and honestly out of all of them i like the abu reels i used to use abu and never had a issue so im going with abu.

Like I said... 2010 STX. Great reel.

if i get a STX that pretty much taps me out and leaves no room for tackle or rods. i realized yesterday im out of almost all my worm hooks not good so im thinking 2 orras and vendettas to match then a ton of hooks
