Need Itunes Help

Featured Replies

I know there is probably an easy answer to this, but I have pretty basic computer knowledge. I have a 2nd Generation Ipod Touch but am wanting to get a new laptop since the one I have is rather old. My question is, what will happen when I plug the Ipod in to the new computer since I have my itunes account on the old one? Basically I'm just trying to figure out how I get my old itunes account on the new laptop without losing any songs or apps?

Hope the question is clear, thanks for any help.

iTunes has "Home Sharing" where as long as two computers are connected to the same wireless connection you can transfer your library to your other computer. When you open iTunes on the other computer you're going to have to log in to your apple account to do home sharing I think, and you should be able to sync your iPod just fine like normal. I haven't had to do this in a while, but I hope this is helpful.

You will have to authorize the new computer to play your itunes purchases. You can have up to five. I haven't ever switched my entire library from one computer, but I have two computers and I can purchase songs from either one and transfer it to the other via wifi or flash drive.

you can share all of your itunes music etc. to any computer using senuti ( i tunes spelled backwards). i have switched my entire catalog to 3 different computers. very simple to do.
