Anybody Have Over Prescription Sunglasses?
I used to get my prescription glasses with magnetic sunglasses but I found that they let too much light in the sides. This summer I picked up some Solitaire fit over sunglasses at my eye doctor for $25. I will never go back. They offer so much more protection, and I even use them when I am chainsawing as safety glasses. The actually don't look too bad either... my wife wouldn't let me get them if they did look bad. http://datasheets.globalspec.com/ds/1254/SafetyGlassesUSA/BA2BC5CA-9CF7-4554-B760-5021735AF2CF

Cma Country Christmas
Listen to Sugarland's first cd "Twice the Speed of Life" and then listen to the latest cd "The Incredible Machine". There is a huge difference in the way she sings.

Cma Country Christmas
I used to like her, but the more popular they get the more she over-sings.

Ugly Stick
I got rid of my ugly sticks because they were too flimsy at the tips.

Gear Monkey...
I had a Citica 201E that started making some strange noises, so I sent it to shimano and they replaced the gears and stuff. All under warranty. I went to use my backup, a Cabela's Tournament ZX flipping switch, and the spring that pushes the thumb bar back up went bad. That I replaced myself.

Gear Monkey...
Just wondering how many spare reels you guys have, and if you carry them with you and how often you use them? I don't plan on purchasing any more rod/reel set ups in the near future, but I am always curious about different reels. Also, this summer I had a couple of reels malfunction on me. I don't want to spend the money to have a reel sit, but don't want to be without if one does need some work. What are your thoughts?

How Do You Organize Your Tackle
That is essentially what I use, except on a smaller scale. I have one 3700 for cranks, 1 for twisters, 1 for worms/creature/tubes/frogs, 1 for spinner/buzz baits, 1 for terminal. I have several smaller boxes for topwaters, crappie jigs, jerkbaits, and bass jigs, and other misc. lures. This all goes into a Cabela's tackle bag.

Question Out Placing/taking Boat From Water
It would help to know what kind of boat, length etc... Yeah, the type of boat and trailer makes a huge difference. My boat is a 12'semi V. Once everything is ready I back the trailer in until the back of the boat starts to float up. Depending on the angle of ramp, I might back in further but never far enough that the truck tires are in the water to the rim. Then I loop the bow rope to the trailer and push the boat off. Then I grab the rope and tie the boat to the dock, or beach it and tie it to a tree. When it is time to load up, I back the trailer in so the bunks are partially submerged. Again the amount depends on the ramp. Now I take to beached boat and push it out and pull it back by the bow rope and get it on the bunks. Then I get on the tongue and pull the winch strap to the bow eye and crank it on. Now, my father in law has a 16' deep V with a 100hp Johnson, on a really nice shorelander trailer with roller bunks. All you have to do is back it in until the stern floats, back it off and dock it. To load it, just back the trailer in so that most of the bunks are under and drive it on and hook up the winch strap. Don't forget to unplug your lights before backing into the water! Also, do a search on this site as well as you tube on launching and loading boats. You will find a lot of what not to do.

What Do You Use To Clean Reels?
I have been using Ardent's Reel Kleen to clean my baitcasters and I have run out. I was wondering what other people use and if there was something better. I really don't like the smell of Reel Kleen, and it is expensive for what you get. Any suggestions?

Ice Fishing
No shelter? That doesn't sound fun. The only way you'd get me ice fishing is if I had one of those little huts that stay on the lake like in the movie Grumpy Old Men.

Why College Is A Waste Of Money
There it is again... Those who say that should try teaching. It isn't as easy as people think it is, trust me. I am a teacher.

Why College Is A Waste Of Money
I have always hated it when people say this. If you can't do it, then you shouldn't teach. Besides, I have known plenty of people who can "do it" very well that were HORRIBLE teachers. There are good teachers and bad teachers just like any other profession. Maybe the teacher was trying to teach you to be self reliant. I had one like that in college, and at the time it frustrated and angered me to no end. Looking back I know what he was doing and have a lot of respect for what he was teaching me by not giving me all the answers.

Extending Trolling Motor Wires
This is what I was wondering about. I don't want a bunch or wires all over the floor of my boat. I take the trolling motor off when the boat is in transit and in storage, so I wasn't sure about having super long wires. Goose52, what did you use for that quick disconnect and where can I get some?
-
Extending Trolling Motor Wires
I have a 12' boat with a transom mount trolling motor, which I remove when I am trailering. The battery wires are barely long enough to put the battery in front of the rear bench. I am thinking about moving the battery further forward in my boat to distribute the weight better. I have been considering two options and would like your opinions. Option 1. Simply splice wires inline to make the leads longer. Option 2. Use some sort of plug/receptical or quick disconnect to make an extension. What do you all think?

Measuring Water Temp
I guess this isn't the time of year to find pool thermometer in my area, but I did find an aquarium thermometer that does read to 30 degrees F. I think I will attatch something to make it float, tie it to the boat and see how it works.

Measuring Water Temp
Great idea! Thank you very much, I can always count on you guys.

Wd - 40 & Bass
I can't believe people use it for an attractant. I always was very careful to not leave any excess on my pliers after oiling them, for fear the scent would scare them away. I find the smell repulsive and figured fish would as well.
