hi guys, this is probably going to sound like a dumb question but being new to bass fishing i need all the pointers i can get, just moved over from the uk and started bass fishing, when changing rubber lures what do you do with the ones you take off, do you just put them back in the pack or keep them seperate from the new ones, any advice is greatly appreciated, tight lines to you all

I usually just put em back in the bag. I keep a bottle of Mend-It handy so that i can fix em if i tear up the end or something while pullin the hook back out.

In case you aren't familiar with it, Mend It is a glue designed specifically for repairing soft plastics. Yes, keep the damaged ones aside for repair or use parts from different ones and create your own.

I just throw them in the bottom of the boat and then into the trash when I get home. They just aren't that expensive and the part that gets torn up is usually where the hook goes, which makes re-using them a problem. You can put plastic baits back in the bag if you want. Don't put used Gulp or other "biodegradable" soft baits back in the bag because it contaminates the bag.

Depends.

If they are not that torn up I let them dry and put them in a plastic sandwhich bag so not to "contaminate" the unused plastics in the original bag.

If they are really torn up I can either 1) throw them away or 2) keep them to help keep trailers on jigs or for other uses such as cutting them down to smaller sizes or splitting their tails into quarters to use as trailers for spinner and Chatterbaits.

Personal preference.

I have a "worm tray" in the top of my tackle box and used plastics go there if they aren't too beat up. Otherwise they go in the garbage.
