Just purchased the Pinnacle Platinum Plus LC100C baitcasting reel at Wal Mart. It got it to learn to use a baitcasting reel, but soon I'm gonna get a new set-up from BPS with a BP Pro Qualifier or Shimano Citica. Just eager to get some casting practice. I've read some decent stuff about these reels. Are they pretty good?

Love mine. But both of them started having issues with the anti reverse. Keep any diagrams you may have got. I took both completely apart and and degreased and lightly oiled them. They now work better than ever. So they are good to learn on, both casting and cleaning/repairing.

They're great reels.

I just got one a few weeks ago, and it has become one of my favorite reels. It never gets left at the house when I'm on the water.

Very good reel to learn on. I used one last summer and never had any trouble with it but i have moved on to better reels now that i know how to cast one with out any trouble at all. I am sure you will like it just take your time with learning and get out in the yard and cast as much as you can.
