Trolling Motor T-Bar Replacement

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I wrote awhile back about a problem with my Minn Kota Endura 50, after some more research I found that I had broken the t-bar, so I took someones advice and went to trollingmotorparts.com. I got my t-bar replacements today, and I've looked up a schematic for the motor, I think I can manage this by myself, but I'm curious, does the hinge pin just tap out? I've given it a couple whacks, but I'm afraid to hit it too hard, has anyone replaced a t-bar? Replies much appreciated!

Did you get this figured out? Most Minn Kotas come apart pretty easily. let me know I can check Thursday when I go to work we have a bunch I can look at.

I haven't yet, but I haven't really tried since I posted this either, got busy yesterday. I'll give it try tonight after work and see where it gets me and then let you know. Thanks so much!

Ok, so i didn't get to it tonight either... all i really need to know, is do I have to do anything special to get the hinge pins out, or do they just tap out?

Ok easy fix there is one pin you will need to remove. This pin should comeout fairly easy. It is located in the button used to move the tbar. The pin is narled on one end to hold it in place, you will need to try tapping it out in each direction to find out what end. Once it is out take the lever and tbar out of the bracket. The tbar only fits through the top hole in the lever. You will know what I am talking about when you get it out of the bracket. I did this at the shop today the whole process took less then 5 minutes. This was my first time removing and installing this part.

Good Luck,

TomD.
