Got A New Boat!

Featured Replies

It isn't new but it is to me! I got a 1989 stratos 289v with a 175 Johnson GT on it. it needs a little work but she should be water ready by the end of next week. It took 4 hours total trip to get but i think it was worth it. He was asking $4000 I got it for $2500. What do you guys think? Was it worth $2500?

Looks better than the first Bass Boat I had. A little spit and polish and if the motor, transom, are good and no rotten spars your good to go.

I had a 15 ft skiff before this (gave it to my cousin. The transom and hull is in great shape, the trailer is pretty nice and we are have the motor's carbs cleaned and a new water pump and water deflectors on it. This is the first boat I will be able to trailer to different lakes or even saltwater occasionally so I am pretty excited.

Good job, we are happy for you. As long as it runs good and does not sink ,you got a good buy. Remember boats DON,T catch fish! Alittle clean up and your ready to go. good luck and have fun.

Should be a great boat. It has the same color scheme as my 91 201 pro. I would clean the fuel and oil tanks, replace the fuel primer bulb, and tighten the transom bolts. Just a few things I found on my older boat.

I think you got a great deal.Good Luck with it.

Nice rig! A word of advice pick up a can of omc engine tune and run that through it, just goes to show you don't have to spend 40k for a bass boat, it's not the boat but the dude runnin' the boat!!! B) junebugman
