G'zone Commando Phone

Featured Replies

Hey everybody,

I have a VERY old G'z one phone, I think it is an S-type. I have more then 600 hours of talktime on it, but it does not have a camera. (I use to work for a defense contractor so, no camera phones.) I am looking to upgrade and came across the Casio G'zOne Commando. It is a G'z phone, but combination of smartphone and rugged characteristics. Does anyone have one of these? If so, what do you think of it?

I am putting a link to Verizon's site (that is my carrier) below in case people reading this are curious about the phone.

Thanks in advance Wdy

i have the model a year before that one and i love it. i have fallen off my boat a couple of times, pushed in my pool with the phone in my pocket and it has yet to fail. takes great pics and is indestructable. love it!

Would be great to get some feedback on this if anyone does have any experience with this phone.

Hey everyone, breif update on my Commando phone. The ear piece on the phone died on me today, less then a month owning it. The phone is marketed as "water resistant," and yes the phone got wet, but I can not hear someone talking to me over the phone. Took it to Verizon and they could not do anything. So, giving everyone a heads up on this phone now with not even one-months talk time on it.

I have a Commando, one of the reasons I bought it was the earpiece, the clarity is almost as good as my flip phone, I offed my incredible because clarity was tick-poor at best. Display isn't great in the sun and the camera& flash could be better but overall it's treating me well.

That sucks, do you have insurance on it? I thought about getting it but decided on the droid x. Pretty happy with it.

Verizon and their vendors have a 30 day return or exchange policy, I've used it. You can purchase insurance up to 30 days after the purchase, I didn't but I'm considering it, $89 is floating in my head.

Hope you get a replacement from them, It doesnt make me feel like its a quality product if after a month it stopped working. Keep us posted on how things go with Customer Service.
