I am putting my Minn Kota back together and was wondering if it would be wise to put a small bead of caulk aroud the seals to help waterproof it or should I just depend on the gaskets. Also, should one put some WD 40 on the brushes and armiture before assembling???

    I don't think it would hurt anything. I would use white lithium grease instead of wd40 if its metal to metal.

    Ask Minnkoata but my thought is no. The WD 40 might interfer with conductivity and the caulk could keep the seal from properly seating.
