I'm Buying A New Bass Boat What Brands Are Best?
I would argue on the side of buying a used boat as mentioned above. You can get a LOT more boat for the money which means that if you want to upgrade, downgrade or just change the style of the boat you buy, you wont be upside down as much as you would had you bought brand new. I spent $10K on my Skeeter ZX150 ten years ago, have put a good number of hours on her, and have only stuck about $1200 bucks into her over the years on maintaining her over the years (with the exception of @ $100 per year for winterization). I found mine through a local pro who fished in a local tourney trail. He pointed me to a well maintained boat that fit my needs and my budget. Since the owner knew the pro and was buying his two year old boat, i also got a break on the price by $2K. If i was going to sell my boat today, i would probably ask about $5-6K for it, so my loss on investment is low, but since it is paid off, not gonna sell it till it sinks!!

Battery Charging
Is it ok to let your batteries charge inside of a house (laundry room), or do they give off gasses that are harmful if not outside in a garage or other ventilated area. I know there are quite a few of you out there who have extensive knowledge on batteries so any advice on this would be very helpful. I dont want to keep them out in the garage because it gets pretty cold up here in Illinois.

Chip For Gps
Okay, I think I have it narrowed down to the Humminbird 788 CI HD DI or the 597. Please talk me into the 788!!! Here's the next question, where is the best place to get a chip? I want the Navionics. Any used ones out there or where is the best place to purchase one?

Ff-Gps Combo
My boss, bless his heart, is buying me a ff gps unit. I know there are other topics in this part of the forum, but dont know how dated they are. Any input about what model, maker.....would be helpful. I dont want to look a gift horse in the mouth, so I want to keep it under $650. Thanks in advance to any who reply.

New Job
No, he is short and has longer curly hair. He dosent usually work the front of house, he does the accounting and ordering in the morning and then stops in from time to time during the day. I am going to try to get him to sponsor me in a tourney this year.

More Tm ?s
I am putting my Minn Kota back together and was wondering if it would be wise to put a small bead of caulk aroud the seals to help waterproof it or should I just depend on the gaskets. Also, should one put some WD 40 on the brushes and armiture before assembling???

Bassresource..are You Serious?
Glenn, I love it, but you knew there were going to be a few differing opinions. I think the update is great!!

New Job
Yeah, the guy who owns the Northlake and elmwood park stores is a great guy. If you see him there his name is Nick, he really likes to fish and is pumped up that I am going to take him out this summer. He is really focused on cleanliness and customer service, one of the reasons I am now there instead of at Hoots. Hopefully I can take him up to Delavan for the Scum Frog bite!!!! Let me know if you stop in. I am the really tall and big guy with the glasses. Let me know you are a Bass resource person and I will try to get you a little deal. I will check with the boss to see if we can run a BR special.

New Job
After 14 years with Hooters, I finally found the balls to call it quits (with a little nudge). Got my first raise in 4 years by going to work at Wing Stop in Elmwood Park. If anyone lives around there, stop in and see me. The garlic parmesan wings are awesome!

I always liked the Lambo Muira. Had great lines. Still have to go a long way to beat the way a 512 Testarossa looks after they pass you!!

Ice Maker?
Yeah baby, if you need something heavy lifted a few dozen stories in the air, look no further than my home town!! Actually, one of the guys who goes crappie fishing with my Dad is one of the lead engineers who developed the "self assembling" crane!!

Ice Maker?

I really like the format of your show. Catching fish IS what it is all about. If we could all have a lunker pond like Bill Dance, we'd be putting 5 to 6 pounders in our boat all day also, but we dont have that luxury. Keep up the good work. BTW, you should start a Psychic Fishing Hotline!!- Frogging
Does anyone here think there is a more exciting way to catch bass than tossing a frog and watching the water explode??? Favorite part of frogging is learning that you have to duck to keep from getting hit between the eyes BEFORE you learn to set the hook AFTER the fish actually eats it.- Ice Maker?
I hate to say it, but the repairman for our machines at Hooters says that Manitowoc hit a glitch over the last few years with thier quality. That really hurts me because I am from Manitowoc and like to think that my hometown turns out a quality product. That being said, the machine at Downers Grove Hooters (a Manitowoc) has been in there for probably 8 years without too many problems. It would be nice to "buy American" if you could.- Bassresource.com Decal?
I used to order a lot of shirts for Hooters. If interested, contact me Glenn and I can hook you up with Nelson at Adver T. I am sure we can get a decent price on the screen set up for shirts. If you need an in for stickers, I could ask another person, Luke with Sticker Dude Designs to do them. PM me to let me know if you want some prices.- Is It Just Me?
I like the new look and features. In today's world, you have to keep on the cutting edge. I applaud Glenn and the people who decided on the upgrade and hope they keep looking to make this site better as time goes by. Hope all of you who went on the Road Trip are catching some lunkers. I had to stay up here in the beautiful Illinois weather and find a new job. Mission accomplished, now work for an awesome new place (Wing Stop)and didn't go smelting at all because of the weather. BOOOO!! The cool thing is the owner of my new place loves to fish, so it sounds like we may do some road trips of our own!!- Trolling Motor Troubles
I am guessing its a fuse on the power wires back by the batteries as mentioned before- Dreams And Fishing
When I was a kid, my mom said that she saw me quite often reeling and pumping a rod while I was asleep!!- Boat mooring ?
Beach it. All you dont need is a big storm to make waves big enough to "walk" your boat out a few hundred yards.- Getin the boat ready
X4. Do all of that other stuff when you wrap up your day of fishing. Grab a cold one, wipe down the rig with a quick spray wax, clean out the livewell of any chunks that have been spit up, empty the cooler and park the boat ready to hook up, check the lights and go fishing. Why do you have to take the batteries out of the boat??- Soldiers, Veterans and every one else that protects this great country..
my computer savvy is not what it should be, what is a sticky????- Asking for more vehicle advice
I think 5700 is a good deal. It looks clean. Id say pull the trigger if your mechanic says its ok. - Lunkerville: "all The President's Fish - Part One" Now Playing!
