Pond/lake Fishing In South Georgia

Featured Replies

I live in south Georgia and have access to some lakes, and ponds that are 10+ acres. What are the main baits I need to have on hand when I'm fishing for bass?

Cranks, spinners, buzz, plastics, swim, live, whatever you deem necessary in your current situation. Use what you're comfortable with. Check the weather and match the patterns of the fish with the type of bait you have and or comfortable with. It's all up to preference.

Okay. I have all of them except live. I've never tried swimbaits, but I got someof those hollow-body Luck "E" Strike shad from BPS this weekend. Rigged it up and it seems to have decent action.

Buzz baits knocking them off stumps in 2-6 ft water this time of year kills them for me on similar ponds. Especially near a cold inlet water source. Switch to pumpkin seed worm Texas rigged during the middle of the day if you can locate some deeper structure.

Spinner Baits always work for me real well around weedy areas in a small lake like that, and also plastic worms, and lizards.
