Citica 200Dsv Brake Adjustment.....

Featured Replies

I have a Citica 200 DSV I use for my swimbaits on a 7'7 MH Mattlures rod and it casts a mile with no problems. ( 17lb Spiderwire EZ Mono)

I have another Citica 200DSV on my 7' MH XPS rod and the line flies off the spool before I can catch it...I'm throwing ligher baits with this granted ( less than an ounce, some 1/4 ....) but I'm not getting why the line just comes off in a big, loose, fast clump and then , of course, backlashes..... Now, the line I put on is 10lb Stren which I never use but I had to get it on and go in an hurry....... I pushed all of the brakes in? Is this correct. The spool tension is barely loose enough for the bait to drop freely.....

Help!

Pushing brakes in would mean they are all off. Start with four "out" or on, in an "X" pattern, and see how that works.

That is why! As JF mentioned, your brakes are off, not on.

Four out and two on is a good place to start, but I would bet you would quickly switch to 3 off and 3 one in a symmetric fashion rather quickly.

Awesome guys, thanks a lot! No wonder!! I will adjust it and see how it goes!
